That early search for identity followed me into adulthood.
I have been overlooked.
I have been underestimated.
And I have been pushed out for being “too strong,” “too direct,” or “too much.”
But I have also experienced the exhilaration of bringing my full strengths to the table — and being celebrated for them. Of leading boldly, building confidently, and watching my gifts open doors for myself and others.
Throughout my life — especially in adulthood — I noticed something:
I was always the go-to.
The one people called when the world was falling apart.
The one single moms leaned on when they were barely holding on.
The one friends came to when they were trying to fix everything — their lives, their hearts, their identity, their direction.
Somehow, I could always see the path clearly for others.
The answers, the steps, the breakthrough — it all made sense in my spirit long before they believed it for themselves.
So I decided to formalize what was already inside me.
I joined the John Maxwell Team, pursued DISC and behavioral certifications, deepened my emotional intelligence training, and began coaching intentionally — not just from experience, but from expertise.
And the growth was exponential.
From life coaching to executive business coaching to mentoring leaders and young adults, one thing became crystal clear:
When people were challenged, they grew.
When they grew, their entire lives changed.
And when they changed, they became who they were designed to be.
At the same time, I was navigating my own battles — trauma, divorce, single motherhood, entrepreneurship, and the nonstop commitment of being a sports mom. I held families together, rebuilt my life twice, walked through seasons of emotional pain, and still managed to rise in corporate spaces as a powerful Black woman and leader.
Through every transition, journaling became my anchor — the place where I could see myself, hear myself, and speak truth to myself.
It became the tool that helped me heal, think clearly, break cycles, raise my standards, and strengthen the inner voice I had once silenced just to survive.
Journaling is where I found me again.
And that’s why I created the To Bee You series:
To give others a place to return to themselves.
To offer a guided path back to identity, clarity, healing, confidence, and purpose.
To help people lift the volume on the inner voice they need to navigate life’s hardest seasons — and to sustain the changes they desire long-term.
This series is not just journals.
It is a mirror.
A movement.
A soul-level homecoming.
It is for anyone who has ever questioned where they fit, who they are, or whether their voice matters.
Today, as a mother of six, a grandmother, a corporate tech leader, a coach, a speaker, a DISC consultant, and an entrepreneur, my purpose is simple:
To help people find what I almost lost —
their identity, their voice, and their courage to grow into the fullness of who God designed them to be.
This is my calling.
This is my legacy.
This is my Why.
